Stand Up Paddle or Kayak on beautiful Lake Jennie Jewell in South Orlando. The Waterfront restaurant is the meeting place for our 1.5 hour paddle session. A lesson is included and then your are guided through the lakes and we end back on the shore. By the end of the session you will have a new skill you can take with you on other adventures! Safety and paddle techniques are taught along our journey. We see otters, turtles, eagles, many varieties of ducks, and other waterfowl. Stay for an awesome, freshly prepared meal at The Waterfront. Dine right on the shore or enjoy the beachy vibe indoor.
We meet at 9:30 am at The Waterfront Restaurant. 4201 South Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32806. Please wear clothing that can get wet. Most guests wear a bathing suit or workout attire. People very rarely fall in after my lessons, but I do provide towels and there is a bathroom to change in when we are done. I provide dry bags for your phone so you can take pictures and a bottle of water.
I start by teaching you safety on the boards and how to adjust your paddle for your height. I demonstrate how to stand up safely on the boards and then make sure each guest gets up and feels solid on the board and how to come back down to the board without falling if you feel shaky. We then start our tour around the lakes. Most people settle in very well to paddling but I am able to paddle near each guest and make sure everyone is feeling comfortable.
We stop for water periodically and I teach people all the different ways to use a paddleboard. Kayakers are welcome to join our groups as well. Pictures on this lake turn out amazing and I make sure to take pictures of all guests that I can share after our excursion.
We do not ever see alligators on this lake. This is an awesome, calm lake to learn this skill on and the bonus is there is a wonderful restaurant to sit and enjoy the water even more when we have finished our paddle session. Even if you have tried paddleboarding before and fallen in choppy waters, you will have a much different experience on flat water. I encourage anyone to try this amazing activity. I have taught a 77 year old and a 3 year old to enjoy Paddleboarding safely.
